Lightweighting,
Safety & Performance
The automotive manufacturing sector is a $9 Trillion global marketplace.
Light-weighting of vehicles is essential to attaining CO2 emissions reduction targets for both conventionally fueled and electric vehicles. For EV's reducing mass will reduce both battery and motor mass. These changes will not just cut CO2 productions but global ground-water consumption - a single lithium mine can use 50,000 gallons of water per day.

Why Spidey Tek's
process is the best
Our solvation method is scalable and has been successful with all rSSps used to date. From these easily generated aqueous solutions of rSSps, we have generated a wide variety of materials: fibers, films, hydrogels, lyogels, sponges, and adhesives and we have studies of their mechanical and structural properties. To our knowledge, ours is the only method that is cost-effective and scalable for mass production. This solvation method allows a choice of the physical form of product to take advantage of spider silks’ mechanical properties.
Spidey Tek is the only one
One dalton is roughly equivalent to the mass of a hydrogen atom, so a kilodalton is 1000x the mass of a hydrogen atom.
A kilodalton (kDa) is a unit of measurement for molecular mass, primarily used in biochemistry and molecular biology to indicate the size and complexity of proteins or nucleic acids. Why does this matter? Because actual spiders spin a silk using proteins that are 250kDa or larger. Spidey Tek is the only company ever to repeatedly achieve proteins with a mass of 260kDa in production. This means Spidey Tek is the only company to achieve a product with the strength of actual spider silk.
No other company has come close.
